ELECTRICITY

Greek electricity comes out of the wall at 220/230 volts so you can run hair dryers, CD players, charge 'phones and laptops, etc, from the UK, although you’ll almost certainly require a ‘continental adaptor’ (usually available locally). As Greece has few natural power-generating resources electricity is expensive – when you go out turn off non-essential lights and ensure the cooker and the air-conditioning (where applicable) is turned off and mozzie machines (especially the tablet type), etc, are unplugged.
